Area Polling Location Receives Funds

One Morgan County polling location will see improvements thanks to the Secretary of State's Office.

The Center Township Fire Department received over $2,000 to install a 20 by 30 foot parking area that contains two accessible parking spaces, a small sidewalk and step. It also provides funs to put in striping and vertical signage.

Morgan County was one of five counties to receive part of the over $11,000 to improve polling places in the state to comply with the Americans with Disablities Act.

The others include a site in Belmont County, two in Jefferson County and one in Logan County.

Secretary of State Jon Husted said, "It is important every Ohioan feels comfrtable at he polls and is able to exercise their right to vote, not matter what their phsycial limitations may be."
