The United Way in Licking County sees over $57,000 in funds to support supplemental emergency food and shelter programs in the county.
The award comes from the National Board of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency. Officials in Licking County said a board will determine how the funds will be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in the area.
Programs that offer emergency shelter, rent/mortgage assistance, utility assistance or food assistance will be given priority status.

The Licking County United Way urges agencies to apply for these funds by contacting EFSP Board Chair Sylvia Friel at the United Way of Licking County. The deadline for applications is October 31.
