Maysville Pike

Traffic was at a stand still following a two vehicle accident on Maysville Pike on Saturday Afternoon.

The State Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 3:30 p.m. a driver of a pick-up truck was given a citation for failing to yield at a stop sign, which lead to the vehicle crashing into a near by Jeep.

"There was a pick up truck traveling southbound on Broadview Circle and it came to intersection of Maysville Pike, stopped at the stop sign and turned right at Broadview Circle. He thought it was okay and he was in the clear, and tried to pull out and hit the westbound vehicle in the left lane," said Trooper, Todd Henry.

Trooper Henry says that the driver of the pick up truck did not suffer injuries, while the two passengers in the Jeep were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with moderate injuries. Newton Township Fire and EMS, Muskingum County Sheriff's Deputies and the State Highway Patrol all assisted on the scene.
