The Zanesville Sertoma Club's 54th Annual Pancake Day started early Wednesday morning at Secrest Auditorium and by noon, over 2,000 people were served. Sertoma Club President Tom Downs says he's thankful to have such a supportive community.
"Zanesville's a great community, they give great support to all the non-profit organizations, just going up Maple Avenue you can see all the signs for Sertoma Pancake Day, the date, so we have great support and if you go down to the south end, it's the same way," said Downs.
Downs says it takes about 100 volunteers to help make pancake day possible.
"The Sertomans that we have here, both males and females, the great support that they give. Not only the members but also their spouses and significant others so just a great organization."
The event is expected to raise about $20,000, most of which will go to Muskingum County organizations helping with hearing loss prevention and other services. If you didn't have a chance to stop by for the all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee, you have until 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
