Picking a Christmas tree can be tough, but one local garden center is giving the public some advice on how it's done.
Nursery Associate at Wilson's Garden Center, Katrina Pendrey says that fresh trees have an amazing fragrance and a beautiful appearance, but there are a few things to look out for before purchasing one for your home.
"Every time you buy one always have them make a fresh cut at the bottom because then it will take up the water when you put it in your sand and kind of give the needles a pull make sure they are not falling off already, " said Pendrey.
She also says there are different varieties of trees including white pine and scotch pine, but at Wilson's they sell Fraser Firs because of their striking appearance.
"They are so beautiful, they have on one side a kind of silvery bluish color and on the other side they have that real dark dark green and the structure of them are great because they are strong enough to hold ornaments, " said Pendrey.
If buyers are low on space there are also miniature trees for sale and families looking for more permanent options can purchase trees with roots in tact and ready to plant.
