It's a winter scene a sight to behold as the Welcome Center is decorated in baubles and bows.
There's trees with red and green ribbons and Rudolph's bright red nose. The Welcome Center's in the Christmas spirit as businesses begin to showcase their creativity for this year's Festival of Trees. Through trees, wreaths and stockings their are 218 entries in this year's event.
"They take a lot of pride in decorating and they are always trying to, I guess one up the other area businesses for bragging rights," said Downtown Association Manager Dana Matz.
On Wednesday, as part of the Holiday Tour and Miracle on Main Street event, you can also sneak a peak at this year's entries and vote for your favorites.
"As they come into the Welcome Center on Wednesday between 5-8p.m. they'll receive a ballot and then they can vote on their favorite tree, their favorite wreath, and then there is another category we call other so those would be stockings and that type of things," said Matz.
Money raised from the event goes back to support local business.
"It goes into our general fund for operations and again a lot of that we use for marketing the community in numerous ways and supporting the area businesses with our programs that we do to help strengthen them," explained Matz.
The Downtown Holiday Tour begins Wednesday at 5 p.m. with the Miracle on Main Courthouse Lighting at 6:30. The Festival of Trees takes place Friday at 9:00a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. that can be heard live on AM 1240 and whiznews.com
