Demolition continues in downtown Zanesville on a building that caught fire on Sunday.
Zanesville Fire Chief Kevin Thomas said that demolition will continue throughout Monday on the structure at 19 South 6th Street causing a portion of the roadway to remain closed.
Chief Thomas said the fire was reported around 11:30 a.m. Sunday and the vacant four story building was heavily involved with fire in several void spaces.
The fire was battled for several hours with cold temperatures and snow hampering efforts.The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were two minor injuries to firefighters reported.
Falls Township assisted on scene. The fire department would also like to thank Christ Table, McDonalds, Red Cross and others that provided support to the firefighters throughout the incident.
