A local mother celebrates the surprise holiday birth of her baby boy on Christmas.
Kellie Myers says that her son's due date was originally set for January 7th but he came early. She says he was a surprise baby, but she couldn't think of a better gift for Christmas. Her two older daughter's Kami and Kailan are patiently waiting to meet their little brother.
"It's a little bitter sweet because he has two older sisters at home so we missed Christmas with them this morning. We just have to think of a way to make it special for him," said Myers.
The staff at Genesis Bethesda Hospital helped Meyers celebrate her son's birthday and Christmas with a few gifts for the family to take home.
"They gave us some diapers and diaper rash cream and some blankets and that's where his hat and little blanket came from here and some stockings, " said Myers.
Myers says she named her son Silas after a prophet in the Bible and the Christmas birth is fitting. She says he is healthy, beautiful and weighs just over 6 pounds and is about 20 inches long. She is excited to for her family to meet him and spend time with her other children on Christmas.
