Muskingum County Board of Elections Director, Chris Hamill, says those interested in running in the May 6 primary, need to get their papers into the board of elections by Feb. 5. Interested candidates can pick up petition forms up at their Seventh Street location.
"They'll have to come in and pick up petitions," said Hamill. "They'll circulate the petition and bring it back to our office."
Hamill says in the judges races, there are three positions available including common pleas, the domestic relations division, and one in the probate juvenile division.
"We do have one county commissioner, the county auditor and we have three judges in the local races and also, we have the central committee for the Republicans and the 97th District will file here for the state rep."
Hamill says there is only one petition in and that's for the 97th District, but she's hoping to see more people submit petitions.
