Fresh and homemade products were on full display at the Winter Farmer's Market in Granville on Saturday.

From the end of October to early February organizers host the farmer's market at Granville Elementary School. Farmers, bakers and craft makers all gather to sell a variety of organic and healthy options to visitors.

"The quality of the items that you can buy the homemade bread, you can't get bread like that in a store. The same thing goes with organically grown beef, free range chickens I have bought eggs in the store, even organic eggs, they don't even compare with the free range chicken eggs that I buy here, " said Winter Farmer's Market Manager, Cynthia Dilborn.

There are often many types of produce sold at the market each week, but the inclement weather wiped out many crops for the season.

"We had produce lettuce, spinach, kale, things like that for November and December but with the really below zero freezing cold temperatures that we had many of the farmers lost a good deal of their produce. "

Dilborn says that she often has visitors from the Zanesville and Muskingum County come to the market and encourages more to come out in the upcoming weeks.
