OUZ Future Educators Donate To John McIntire Elementary

On Wednesday the Future Educators at OUZ distributed school supplies and winter weather accessories for students and teachers at John McIntire Elementary. Megan Moore, a student in the organization, says they've been collecting donations from both students and faculty, and from area businesses.

"They're gonna go through the stuff themselves and pass them out to the teachers who need new markers that are dried out by now. It's the second half of the year so a lot of things are gone," said Moore.

Personal grooming supplies like toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash and deodorant were also donated to the school for middle school students.

"Some of the personal hygiene items are for the middle schoolers, they're hitting that time and so we have some deodorant, body wash and stuff like that so they can kind of start teaching about personal hygiene and its importance."

Moore says the donation day wouldn't have been possible without generous donations from the community and local businesses.
