The United Way wants to fund more non-profits this year.
The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties will hold a training date for non-profits seeking funding for 2014-2015. The meeting will cover how to completely fill out all sections of the application and how to write a letter of intent on how funding will be used.
Any new community partners interested in the funding must attend the meeting.
"We want them to be strong applications. We want to invest in strong programs. We want to have those strong outcomes and then be able to share with our investors here's what your investment in the United Way is producing," said Impact Coordinator Amy Davis.
This year the United Way hopes to focus on non-profits that help residents to increase budget and financial skills, increase school readiness for pre-school children, provide access to physical, dental or mental health and focus on accessing food or transportation.
"The partners that we've had for years are doing wonderful work and are advancing those outcomes," said Davis. "But, we also know there was some other gaps that we need to work with by opening that funding up."
The application meeting training session will take place Tuesday, February 11 at 3:30-5:00 p.m. at John McIntire Library.
Davis said any non profit planning on attending should RSVP by calling 211 or the United Way at (740) 454-6872.
