Girl Scout Cookies

Everyone has a favorite Girl Scout Cookie whether its Thin Mints, Tag-A-Long's or Savannah Smiles.

Now is the time to start stocking up on your favorite of the eight flavors as the Girl Scout Cookie Sale is underway. The sale helps the girls develop skills that will support them through life including goal setting, decision making, money management, business ethics and people skills.

"Our mission is to develop girls of courage, confidence and characters to make the world a better place," said Sarah Burris Volunteer Services Coordinator. "That's pretty big. It's lofty. Our goal is to raise them up out of their childhood into a productive adult."

The sale is also a fundraiser for the organization in order to support programs and provide financial assistance for girls.

"All troops are supposed to be self sustaining after they've been in a troop for a year," said Mona Jensen Community Development Manager. "The proceeds come back to the troops so the troops can use them for membership, for activities they're doing, uniform pieces. Whatever the troop needs to buy for the girls."

Burris and Jensen said cookies will be sold at booths around the county. You can download the Girl Scout Cookie locator app to find out the closest location. You can also buy a box of cookies to be sent to the troops through their spirit operation.
