The Zanesville Appalachian Art Project chose their Artist of the Month for February.
Mary Ann Bucci will display more than 30 paintings Friday evening. She says most of her paintings are water color or acrylic pieces and the majority of it has never been seen by the public. Bucci says the displays being shown are close to her heart.
"I have one that my little granddaughter Ella loaned to me, I painted flowers for her Ella's flowers and my grandson Owen. I had Owen's fish, he loves fishing with his dad so they let me have those on loan, " said Bucci.
Bucci says that more than half of her other paintings are for sale except for her "Daughters of the Revolution" piece that is currently in a national competition. She says it shows the women of Zanesville in a different period of time.
" It was a water color collage of one moment in 1899 when all of the lovely ladies of the chapter here invited everybody from the whole state to come to Zanesville. I wanted to create it in that room, in that building that's no longer here. I did a lot of research, " said Bucci.
If you are interested in purchasing or viewing Bucci's art work you can visit 625 Main Street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday .
