The campaign, which provides financial assistance for the youth to participate in YMCA programs, starts February 19 with a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings in Zanesville. Executive director Craig Miracle, said they have set a goal of raising $22,000.
"We're partnering up with Buffalo Wild Wings," said Miracle. "They're kind enough to be doing a fundraiser for us where they will donate 15 percent of all food sales that day between 11 a.m. and 11 p. m. to the Strong Kids Campaign."
You can also support the Strong Kids Campaign by participating in the St. Patty's Day Mud Run on March 15. The 3 to 4 mile run starts at Park Central and winds through the college campus.
"We get some interesting characters in the fact that it is close to St. Patrick's Day so we do get some leprechauns, those in green. Last year was a little colder than the year before and our numbers grew and they really enjoy the fact of just the camaraderie of just getting together and supporting great cause."
