A pep rally was held at Bishop Rosecrans High School on Thursday to pump up the Lady Bishop Girls' Basketball Team before their big final four game against Holgate on Thursday.
More than 300 students, faculty and visitors filled the stands to wish the girls luck. Girls' Coach, Gale Kirkbride says the school hasn't reached the final four since 1998 and the reason they are here is strictly because of the girls dedication to the game.
"There's a tremendous pride. It's something like I said really started coaching them in 3rd grade. My daugters is one of them, one of the players so you know they are all like best friends and like daughters to me, " said Coach Kirkbride.
Coach Kirkbride says winning the game is important, but either way he is proud of the team's journey and thier personal growth. The ladies combined grade point average is 3.62 and many of the seniors have a bright future ahead of them. Some will continue to play while others will start on other life paths.
"Some of them are, some of them aren't playing. Some of them are very good students as well as good basketball players, you know one of them is going to be a dentist and so forth they are going to pursue their careers," said Coach Kirkbride.
If you couldn't be at the Schottenstein Center , you can listen to the game live on WHIZ's Z92 radio station.
