The Dave Nutter Memorial Emergency Service Conference took place on Saturday at the Genesis Healthplex on Maple Avenue.
This is the second time, the late Dave Nutter is being remembered by EMS staff. Nutter was an EMS Liason for the hospital from 2002 to 2010 before passing away from a brain tumor. His family and career predecessor were at the event to remember their loved one.
" David was really well regarded by people and he had a lot of people that respected him and looked up to him in this community, " said Genesis EMS Consultant, Joel Dickenson.
Along with remembering Nutter, the conference brought EMS specialists from six surrounding counties to our area to learn all the latest procedures and techniques.
"Today we have speakers talking about free standing hunting injuries, we have a gentleman from the ODNR talking about hypothermia, we have some experts talking about ethics, " said Dickenson.
The more than forty EMS providers that attended the training received 8 hours towards their education. The class was made possible through a variety of sponsors and was free to those who enrolled.
