The Cub Scouts of pack 137 in Duncan Falls held their annual Cake and Ice Cream Social for the public.
The event is dubbed "The Gentleman's Cake Bake" and each cub scout was paired with an adult leader to prepare their baked goods. Organizers say it teaches the boys independence, while allowing them to bond with an older role model.
"That's what we try to encourage. We lead by example, so the more the parents get involved the better group we have and everything," said Scout Leader, Sam Sudduth.
The cakes entries had to be completely edible and each one featured a different theme. The boys were judged on a variety of categories.
"We had five categories and it was most original, judges choice yummiest looking, scout esteem," said Sudduth.
Six cub scouts competed on Sunday at the Duncan Falls Fire Department and winners received certificates for their hard work and dedication. All proceeds from the event will benefit the cub scouts organization.
