Local women had the chance to be pampered while learning how to change pampers at a special event on Saturday.
The fourth annual Community Baby Shower was held at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers. Expectant moms learned all the basics of good parenting.
"Our main focus is the educational focus. We have the basic car seat safety, we have breast feeding techniques, introducing solid foods and just basic baby care and then also we provide a light snack to those mothers coming with their guests," said Early Child Hood Instructor, Katie Lucas.
Along with gaining a valuable learning experience, mothers also had the chance to play games, win prizes and chat with fellow mothers in similar situations. Organizers say moms seem to appreciate the event.
" They told us they love the event. They learn a lot of new information that they didn't know before and they have really enjoyed just being able to come here and seeing the opportunity that are provided and they enjoy the donated door prizes, " said Lucas.
Members from Genesis, Muskingum County WIC, Guernsey County Children Services and Help Me Grow all assisted to make the event possible.
