The Ohio Department of Natural Resources announces upgrades to one of the Ohio's largest state parks.

In a press release ODNR Director James Zehringer said that improvements will be made to the Sugartree Marina. Using capital improvement funds, the department will renovate the marina by redecking the dock as well as renovating the concession building.

This work will be completed in stages to not disrupt service to the public.

The campground at Salt Fork State Park will also receive funds for improvement. More campsites will be upgraded with full water and sewer.

Money for improvements at Salt Fork come from $88.5 million in capital funds recently awarded to Ohio State Parks.

In addition to the work at Salt Fork other parks in the state will see improvements to bathrooms and campsites for the enjoyments of every visitor.

To assist in identifying projects, ODNR has launched a website to allow people to submit their ideas from improvements within the park system.

Ohio is only one of seven states in the nation where admission to parks is free.

Last year, 2.3 million people spent at least one night in an Ohio State Park campground, cottage, cabin or lodge.
