With tax season now in the rear view mirror, it's time for many of our documents to make their way to the shredder.
Century National Bank wanted to make sure its customers were able to safely dispose of their documents by offering a free shred-it day Saturday morning until 1 p.m.
"Basically, we decided Century National Bank wanted to host a shred-it day for our customers and our Freedom Years members," said Kristin Baughman, Freedom Years Director for Century National Bank. "So we brought the company out. We've had a very successful morning. About 100 cars have already made it through."
Baughman said the bank always tries to partner up with a charity for this event. While shredding was offered to customers for free, they did ask for donations to benefit a good local cause.
"All donations today will actually go to help the animal shelter," Baughman said. "We have Ralph (a puppy) and his sister, Maya. Maya's just been adopted, so we were just happy that they were able to bring the dogs out for us this morning."
Baughman said Century National Bank tries to offer one free shred-it day to its customers per year following tax season.
