As Zanesville gets set for the First Friday Art Walk Friday evening, the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project wants you to meet their Artist of the Month.
ZAAP recognizes an accomplished artist in the Zanesville community each month to be featured during the art walk. While the artist for June's name might be Terrible, his photography is far from it.
"It's black and white photography, predominantly," Dan Terrible said. "I've been taking photos well over 50 years now since back when I was probably 10 or 11."
Art seems to run in the family for Terrible, as his father also worked in photography, and his wife served as a ZAAP Artist of the Month in the past. While the technology has changed drastically over the years, Terrible said that sometimes the older style of black and white can still make the biggest impact.
"Black and white, to me, sometimes brings kind of a stronger reality to somethings," Terrible said. "We do so much in color, we see so much in color, that black and white actually kind of pops out at you sometimes."
The art walk takes place downtown Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. You can see more of Terrible's work during the walk by visiting the ZAAP gallery.
