The skies in Coshocton County were filled with more than just clouds this weekend.
The 33rd annual Hot Air Balloon Festival took over the Coshocton County Fairgrounds Thursday through Saturday. Over 18 balloons made their way to town, and according to committee member Patty Wherley, it's a popular stop for many of the pilots.
"They come from all around the surrounding states," Wherley said. "We have a pilot from Texas here this year. They all travel on circuits, but the majority of pilots that we have have been with us for decades. They really enjoy flying in this area, and they like Coshocton County."
In addition to the balloons, the festival also offers a midway full of carnival rides, vendors, crafts, and of course, food. Live entertainment was also offered each day concluding with Coshocton native Danielle Peck who performed in front of the grandstand Saturday night. Visitors to the festival have access to all of this for a great price.
"it's a free festival," said Phil Linne. "There's never been a gate charge. There's never been a parking charge. All the grandstand shows are free. Unless you want to eat, everything is free."
The committee is already making plans for next year's festival which will take place the second full weekend after Memorial Day.
