First Responders Called to the Challenge

It's time to rise to the challenge local law enforcement and first responders.

The cold water challenge is making it's way through the area. The challenge requires firefighters specifically to be doused with cold water. If they accept they must complete the challenge in 24 hours, donate $10 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and then pass the challenge on to someone else.

If they fail they must donate $100.

"It's just all in fun, getting wet, getting everybody out there to do something and then trying to raise money for the foundation to keep the foundation going," said Zanesville Fire Department Lt. Ed Kinsel.

Now Dave Roberts has challenged all emergency personnel to take part in the challenge by getting in a dunk tank, Saturday. Family and friends can then pay to dunk their first responder.

"I think it's a pretty good idea. It will help raise awareness and money through the foundation," said Lt. Kinsel. "A lot of people don't even realize there is a foundation for firefighters who've been killed in the line of duty."

The challenge begins Saturday at 1p.m. The dunk tank will be set up near the Philo Pool.
