Loud music from a marching band may not belong on a golf course, but that doesn't mean golfers can't take to the course to help an area band.

The Zanesville High School Band Boosters will host their third annual golf scramble next Saturday at Vista Golf Course. With limited funding from the school, Booster President Mike Coulson said the band relies on community support to help with expenses.

"The funding to make a lot of these events happen comes through fundraisers," Coulson said.  "It comes through donations by the community to the Zanesville Band Boosters. We just paid off $45,000 worth of new uniforms without using school money."

The band currently has around 75 members and is comprised of a marching band, concert band, and wind ensemble. While playing in the scramble will help these members with events throughout the year, you could also potentially make some money for yourself.

"We have a $10,000 hole-in-one prize to offer as well as three other hole-in-one prizes that will be given away if a lucky golfer happens to hit a hole-in-one," Coulson said.

The scramble will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on June 21st. The cost is $50 per person ($200 per team), and you can register the day of the event. Coulson said they hope to raise around $5,000 from the scramble.
