The Muskingum Recreation Center received a visit from royalty Saturday morning.
Mrs. America 2014 Austen Williams stopped by to check out the center while taking a couple of classes. She said it's important for everyone to know the importance of staying fit.
"I believe that our bodies are our temples, and if we don't take care of it, who will?" Williams said. "The best thing that we can do for ourselves is to love God, love people, and to love ourselves, and the first step to doing that is, obviously, taking care of your body."
Williams worked in both spinning and ripped classes at the recreation center. The Texas native said the decision to enter the Mrs. America pageant helped motivate her to get back in shape after having kids.
"After I had my second child, I had some baby weight," she said. "I was still very thin, but I was just squishy everywhere. I thought, nothing like the threat of a swimsuit competition to make you get your life together, so I entered my state pageant, and from there I was so empowered to have that time where I wasn't just being a wife or just being a mother. I had an opportunity to be all of who God created me to be."
While in the Buckeye State, Williams is also serving as a judge for this year's Mrs. Ohio pageant which takes place in Gahanna.
