Those young and young at heart enjoyed Sunday night's performance by the Zanesville Memorial Concert Band.
The concert at Zane's Landing Park was the second of the band's summer series and catered to kids with music from Frozen as well as Pirates of the Caribbean.
"We have a pirate who is going to announce the sections of the band," said Janine Schmelzer Bock. "Then the pirate is going to stick around for a song that we're going to play called 'Pirates of the Caribbean' which many of the children know."
The show was free and open to the public as every performance has been since the band was founded over 91 years ago. As if the music wasn't enough, children could also enjoy dancers, face painting, and they even had the opportunity to help out the conductor.
"We're going to have them come up, anybody who wants to, and direct the band for 'The Stars and Stripes Forever,' Schmelzer Bock said. "We'll, of course, help them a little bit. We'll start the band, and then they can come up and conduct for a little while."
The next performance for the Zanesville Memorial Concert Band will be Sunday, July 6th at 7:00 p.m. Being near our nation's birthday, the focus of that concert will be patriotic music.
