Noble Local Schools becomes just one of 100 schools and educational entities selected as finalists for this year's Straight A Fund grant money.
Noble Local's project if funded would team the district with 19 others including Cambridge City to optimize transportation effeciences in a cross district consoritium.
If funded the grant would create shared services of transportation to streamline and elminate bus routes, track student ridership, reduce transportation time and share parking and bus garage centers.
It would also create an on-line multi-district transportation database to help student scheduling and coordinate communication.
They're requesting over $1.7 million in funds that would save the districts over $3.9 million.
The Straight A Fund Governing Board must approve this year's selections for funding by July 28.
The Straight A Fund seeks to promote innovative local ideas and programs to help modernize Ohio's Education System. The fund was created in the state budget signed last summer by Governor John Kasich
