A local non profit organization presents a large check to Genesis Hospice to aid families in receiving special care.
Members of the Follies Family performed in a variety show this past March to raise money for Hospice. On Monday they were able to present a $25,000 check to the organization.
" We were ecstatic." said John Kullman, Follies President. We were hoping to get at least $10,000 and we really are happy about the amount we can give Hospice. "
Genesis Hospice employees say the funds this year will go to good use which includes providing medications and equipment for families under Genesis Hospice Care.
"They are relieved. It's a bunch of stress to need to care for loved ones at home and that financial piece is very stressful for families, and the financial help that this gives the Genesis family and Follies Family has provided is wonderful, " said Lorie Junk, Hospice Manager.
This was the first year that the Follies Family took over the variety show that was originally hosted by genesis. Organizers are already planning next's years performance. They would like to thank corporate sponsors and the volunteers that made their show a success.
