Zanesville Police say they have been having problems in the Baker Street area recently and Sunday night it turned into a beating incident. Captain Doug Merry says officers have received reports of a crowd of people stopping traffic on Baker Street.  Sunday night around 7:30 Thomas Probasco was driving down Baker Street and encountered the group of people who blocked his vehicle and began yelling at him.  Merry says after he slowly made it past the crowd he returned and got into a confrontation with Richard Hargraves of Abington Avenue after his vehicle was blocked a second time. Police say eventually Probasco was pulled from his vehicle and got into a fight with Hargraves.  Captain Merry says some of Hargraves friends joined in by kicking Porbasco while he was down on the ground.  Hargraves has already appeared in Zanesville Municipal where he pleaded no contest was sentenced to 10 days in jail and ordered to pay restitution and fined 200 dollars. Captain Merry says more charges are possible and his officers are increasing patrols in the Baker Street area.
