The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help identifying a man found in the Muskingum River Friday afternoon.
According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, around 1:00 p.m. the body of a white, middle-aged male with dark hair, a mustache and a goatee was recovered from the river. The man had no identification on him. Officials are hoping some distinctive features will help lead to discovering his identity.
"The following tattoos were found," said Officer Jason Latchic with the Division of Watercraft. "There was a Harley Davidson logo on the right shoulder and a POW-MIA logo below that. His left nipple is pierced with a black and white ring. The block of the Ohio State O logo has a horseshoe in the center of it and is on his left chest. A large cobweb tattoo is on his left torso, and multiple skulls are on the left shoulder and a left arm sleeve tattoo."
The body was found near Rokeby Lock in Morgan County. The recovery was completed by the Division of Watercraft and the Morgan County Sheriff. The Morgan County Coroner has ordered an autopsy at Licking County.
"It is believed he is one of the two men reported missing on the Muskingum River following a boating accident on Tuesday, June 24th," Latchic said.
If you believe you know this person, you are asked to call the Ohio Division of Watercraft at 614-799-9572 or the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office at 740-452-3637. Latchic said they are still searching for the other missing boater.
