Ed Allender loves music so much that he decided to open his Zanesville home up for a concert and jam session Sunday afternoon.
The music started around 1:00 p.m. at Allender's property off of Licking Road. Area bands provided free entertainment to anyone who wanted to come out.
"We're really just putting it on because there ain't no place to play music," Allender said. "It costs so much to go play music with gas and everything else, so I just thought maybe we'd get something going."
The music was mostly country and bluegrass with a little blues and rock mixed in. In addition to the bands, those in attendance could also sing karaoke. Allender said it's important for him to put on events like this because music has played such a major role in his life.
"I've been playing ever since I was six years old. I've been playing guitar. That's the main thing, I just like to play. I play everyday. There's not a day that goes by that I don't play my guitar."
Allender hopes to have more music events open to the public on Sundays as the summer progresses.
