Stars and Stripes on the River continues its annual Fourth of July celebration beginning this Thursday night.
The celebration will kick off with live music and performances by local talent at Zane's Landing Park.
"We've got it starting on July 3rd from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m," said Jaycees President Mike Fulmer. "We're going to have a local band by the name of Carson Drive playing. They're going to take a break around seven o' clock and then we're going to have the Melissa Marie School of Dance put on a performance, about 15 minutes."
The celebration will continue on Friday, July 4th with more live performances beginning at 2:00 p.m. including Hey Monea and Doug McCormick. The Jaycees will then present $4,000 in scholarships before the entertainment kicks back in during the evening.
"The band's going to start back up at seven o'clock," Fulmer said. "We have Doug McCormick out of Nashville, Tennessee. He'll be playing from seven o' clock until about 9:45 when the fireworks start. Then, after the fireworks are done, he'll pick back up and play until about 11:00 or 11:15."
The event is free to the public and all of the money raised selling food and beverages will go to local non-profit organizations. For more information on Stars and Stripes on the River and the fireworks display, you can visit www.zanesvillejaycees.org.
