A Zanesville man is in custody after leading officers on a chase through three counties Thursday night.

According to the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office, 35-year-old Kacey Weekley had been wanted on arrest warrants for failing to pay child support and falsification. Around 7:00 p.m. Thursday night, Muskingum County Sheriff Deputies attempted to pull over Weekley's vehicle on State Route 146 West that had just been involved in a pursuit with Zanesville Police officers that was terminated in Licking County. Weekley again failed to comply with the stop, leading deputies on a 24-minute chase.

Deputies blocked one lane of Shannon Road near the Tea Room to stop the vehicle, but as it approached, it accelerated toward officers who were out of there vehicles. One of the deputies fired two shots which struck but did not stop the fleeing vehicle. The pursuit eventually ended on Township Road 285 in Coshocton county where Weekley was taken into custody. No deputies were injured in the incident which remains under investigation.
