The Muskingum Valley chapter of the American Red Cross now has a new home.

Executive Director Marlene Henderson said they officially moved out of the old two story location downtown into their new single story location near Norwich on June 26th.

"The building itself was actually donated to us by an anonymous individual," Henderson said. "Then we did a very small capital campaign and were able to get in with the financial help and all the renovations that were done. Again, we're very blessed to be in such a generous and giving community."

The new location allows more space for volunteers with desks, computers and phones. Staff members now have individual offices, and the building is much more handicap accessible as well. Besides the perks of the facility itself, Henderson said the location is also a bonus.

"We actually serve Muskingum, Perry, Morgan, Guernsey, Noble, Washington, and now Belmont and Monroe counties. So we're on the road a lot, and this being such easy access to I-70 and so close to the 70 - 77 split on the other side of Cambridge helps us tremendously to get to all the counties that we serve."

The new location is just off Interstate 70 at 7650 East Pike in Norwich. They can be reached at 740-844-2017.
