Summer is all about road trips and vacations but it's also important to remember safety in the midst of all the fun.
Riesbeck's in South Zanesville partnered with the Sheriff's Department, Genesis Healthcare and the Muskingum County Safe Community Coalition to host a safety event today from 2:00 p.m.. until 4:00 p.m.. The day featured many events to educate and help the community keep safe during the summer months and beyond.
"We are going to provide car seat safety checks, promoting our pharmacy, The Sheriff's Department is here, we're going to I.D. cards for children, a sunscreen application, just a lot of fun things we're wanting the community to come over and see what we have to offer," said Store Events Coordinator Jane Dombroski.
The event also featured sobriety goggles and portion control demonstrations for guests. Dombroski said today was really about keeping the children of the community safe.
"We want to keep not only our children but children of all ages safe in the community that we serve and our customers and this is just a great way to come over one spot an to be able to do all those things at our store," said Dombroski.
If you missed the safety event this year and you're interested in attending next year you can find more information about it on their Facebook page.
