The State Highway Patrol reported a traffic stop on Saturday night led to the detection of marijuana.

The Patrol said just before 8:30 p.m. troopers pulled over a Nissan Altima on US 33 in Fairfield County for speed and marked lane violations.

Troopers detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and a passenger handed a small amount to the trooper.

A search of the vehicle revealed over 1,000 hydromorphone pills in the vehicle's trunk.

The driver 37-year-old Denean Brown and passenger 38-year-old John Solomon both of Detroit, Michigan were taken to the Fairfield County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking.
