Volunteers are working hard as the annual St. Nicholas Festival prepares for opening night.
The festival gets underway at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday and runs through Saturday. Not only is the event fun for those who attend, but Festival Chairperson Betsy Farrell said all the money raised goes to a good cause.
"It's a great event where we bring the community together, and it supports the school system there, the Catholic school system, and provides a place for everyone to come out and be safe and have fun," Farrell said.
The festival features local entertainment each night with GCR on Wednesday, Carson Drive on Thursday, HB7 on Friday, and Double Cut on Saturday. In addition to the bands, Farrell said the festival has a lot of other activities to offer.
"We have a lot of great food. There's rides for the kids. We're having some new games this year, some inflatables. On Friday and Saturday, they'll have some heavy equipment that the kids can actually ride, so everyone should come on out."
The festival takes place behind the St. Nicholas school. Both parking and admission are free.
