The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office and the Zanesville Police Deparment pulled off simultaneous drugs busts today. One at 456 pine street, the other at 372 bailey street.
It happened around 4:00 this afternoon. Sheriff Matt Lutz said that two handguns, U.S. currency, heroin and other drugs as well as a security system were recovered at the Pine St. home. No arrests have been made at this time. Lutz explained that this is part of an ongoing investigation.
"We firmly believe that they have been selling drugs out of this house, obviously and then there are multiple people involved in the drug investigation."
Zanesville Police Chief Kennith Miller and his team were positioned at the house on Baily St.
"So far we are still conducting the search but we have found some drugs, that being heroin and coke and we've recovered some firearms and we did take one subject into custody at this time," said Chief Miller.
The identity of the man taken into custody is not known at this point. Two dogs were also picked up from the baily street home by the animal warden. This is an ongoing investigation and we will keep you updated as more details become available.
