A Muskingum County Court judge will take the bench of the Court of Common Pleas in Zanesville.  Governor John Kasich has appointed Judge Eric Martin to serve as probate and juvenile court judge and he will assume office on August 13th.  Martin is replacing Judge Joseph Gormley, who retired.  Martin must win in November to retain the seat for full-time starting February 9th 2015.  The Muskingum County Board of Election says the only way that is possible if petitions are filed to be a write in candidate by August 25th.  Martin has been a Muskingum County Judge since 2005 and serves as the presiding and administrative judge.
