As the bell rang Thursday morning at Zanesville High School, it signaled not only the start of the school day, but the school year.
New Principal Garry Young told us that over the last few days he's been getting settled in, but having the students in the building is a whole different feeling.
"It's been great getting to work with the teachers the last few days, getting kind of up to speed. But, I didn't sleep much last night. It was really exciting kind of waiting for the kids to come in for the first time today. "
As a district young said that Zanesville has adopted PBIS, the Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports, and plans on focusing on positives throughout the school year.
"Our big thing this year is we want to showcase the positives that the students are doing, we want to show that to the community so that they can see all the great things the kids at Zanesville High School are doing "
Young is excited to bring his ideas to the high school and feels grateful to get to work at a school of Zanesvilles size and caliber.
