Community Festival

Faith United Methodist Church gathered the community together today for an evening of fellowship.

The Community Festival ran from 4:30PM to 7:30PM at the church grounds. Don Woilfe, Member of the Faith United Methodist Crew said the even has been going on for about 40 years, and evolved from serving dishes of ice cream.

"This event has been going on for years. It started out early as an ice cream social back in the 60's. Started to flounder in the 80's. We introduced a car show to it. It spruced it up a little bit and it has morphed into a full blown community festival."

Those who attened had the opportunity to take part in a variety of free activities. Live music, a classic car and antique tractor display, games, food, door prizes, the Zanesville Fire Department and K-9 unit were all there to enjoy. As far as the purpose of the event, Woilfe said it was to gather the community together and let them know the doors to their church were open.

"We just want to get the word out that this church loves them, just as much as God loves them, and if they want to come worship, we'll be glad to have them."

Wolfe hoped to double previous years attendance at this community festival.
