The 4th Annual Feed The Children Distribution was held Friday afternoon in the Secrest Auditorium parking lot.
Avon in conjunction with Christ's Table, the City of Zanesville and the Muskingum County Network helped to make this event a success. Vouchers were distributed to the 15 food pantries across Muskingum County earlier in the year then passed out to the 800 families that qualified. For each voucher a family received a box of hygiene products, a box of food items and a box of Avon products. Keely Warden from Christ's Table explained to us why this event is so important to these families.
"It's such a perfect time of the year for us, you know, everybody had worked really hard to get their kids back to school and their budgets may be just a little bit stressed. So, the families that they are helping today really need our assistance."
Warden told us that the event would not be possible without the City of Zanesville or the partnership with aAon. Eric Lee from Avon says the company just wants to help do its part and be a good community sponsor and its associates are more than happy to help.
"And it's a great event, the associates all volunteer, every year. Its one of the big events that we like to do and the associates are really excited about coming in and partnering with the community."
The event was held from 2:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. on Friday afternoon.
