The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol announced an OVI checkpoint will take place this week.

The county where the checkpoint will take place will be announced the day prior to the checkpoint and the location will be announced the morning of the checkpoint.

The Patrol said if you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink.

A Zanesville man facing sex charges involving a minor less than 10 years-old changes his plea. The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says that 50-year-old William Lewis pled guilty to one count each of rape, gross sexual imposition and endangering children. Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill continued Lewis’ bond at 500-thousand dollars and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

NEWARK, Ohio - Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for anyone that has information that leads to the arrest of two men wanted for a Ross County murder.

Ross County Sheriff’s Office has issued warrants for the arrest of 36-year-old James Nelson II and 38-year-old Jesse Hanes. They are wanted to for the murder of 62-year-old Theodore Timmons of Londonderry, Ohio.

Parents said goodbye to their kindergartners while they jumpstarted their academic year at Zane Grey Elementary.
