Thursday, Riesbeck's in South Zanesville invites the community to celebrate summer with its fun summer safety event.

After renovations are completed the Center for Seniors will have a new home in downtown Zanesville.

Muskingum County Officials announced Tuesday that they purchased the Zanesville City Schools Administration Building on fourth street for $475,000. Commissioner Jim Porter hopes to hire local contractors for the project. Executive Director of the Center for Seniors Ann Combs is excited for the move after the levy to build a new center failed in May.

High water on roadways can put drivers in dangerous situations.

Zanesville Fire Fighter Greg Brocklehurst said it's up to drivers to make the right call when approaching standing water.

"You really don't want to drive through it because it can be deceiving how high it may be," said Brocklehurst. "It may not look like much but you start going into it and it starts getting deeper and deeper. It's very hard to judge how deep it is before you get into it. "

Port Authority met Wednesday morning at the Muskingum County Welcome Center.

A Tuesday afternoon injury accident in Newark remains under investigation. 

Newark Police reported that a vehicle driven by Jonathan Grigsby of Newark, was stopped at the light on East Main Street at North Cedar Street when his vehicle was struck by a Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Steven Short, also of Newark.

An ATV accident in Coshocton County sent a teen to the hospital Tuesday.

According to the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, it happened just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on a farm on Perry Township Road 383. The sheriff's office says 13-year-old Kellyn Donaker was operating an ATV when she lost control and struck a tree.

She was transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital by MedFlight for treatment of her injuries. The extent of those injuries are not known at this time.

We Lov Pets of Zanesville experienced an attempted theft this past Monday.

In the security video released by the store, you can see two people exit a white mini van and attempt to put a dog box valued between one and two hundred dollars in their vehicle. Manager of We Lov Pets, Russ Denny said they will be taking preventative measures.
