Morgan County Sheriff Tom Jenkins says a striking worker from the Hollinee plant in Shawnee may be charged in connection with the theft of some dangerous chemicals.

The Sheriff says he plans on meeting soon with the County Prosecutor to discuss the issue.

Back on September 21st some organic peroxide was stolen from a Hollinee storage shed.

Workers have been on strike since early September.

The Muskingum County Bar Association has decided to endorse one of the candidates in the race for Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge.

Both candidates, Judge Howard Zwelling and Judge Kelly Cottrill spoke before the organization this week.

Then the lawyers voted by secret ballot to decide if they should endorse, which they did, then they voted for the candidates.

The association says 57 lawyers voted for Zwelling and 11 lawyers voted for Cottrill.

A local child enticement case went before Zanesville Municipal Court today.

According to court documents, 37-year-old Charles Butcher of South Zanesville was charged with two counts of criminal child enticement stemming from an incident in August 2004 when he attempted to lure two Zanesville girls into his vehicle in the Putnam Avenue area.

He first entered a not guilty plea on both counts and was placed in the city jail on 100 thousand dollars bond.

Area fire officials are calling a morning house fire in Perry County a total loss.

The residents of the house could have lost thier lives, had it not been for the quick efforts of fire officials who came to thier rescue.

Ironically, this comes in the midst of fire prevention week.

At 10:13 a.m. a call came into the Crooksville Fire Department of a possible chimney fire at 6775 Old State Road in Crooksville.

There’s a new recommendation for young children regarding the flu shot. They are now included in the list of high-risk people who are strongly encouraged to get the vaccine.

The Ohio Department of Health began shipping doses of the flu shot to local health departments. Gloria Kieffer, Director of Nursing at the Zanesville/Muskingum county Health Department, says adults 65 and older, children 6 to 23 months old and those with chronic illnesses need to get their shots.

An early morning accident has seriously injured a Zanesville man.

The Zanesville Highway Patrol says it happened around 4:30 this morning.

Investigators say 34-year-old Edwin Wesson was driving west on U-S 40 when he went off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

Wesson was medflighted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

The Highway Patrol says Wesson suffered serious leg injuries.

The Granville Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that claimed the life of a Cambridge man.

Troopers say last night around 9:00, 62-year-old Franklin Mohler was driving north on State Route 586 and drove off the right side of the road, struck a driveway culvert, then drove off the left side of the road and struck a ditch.

Investigators say the vehicle overturned onto its top.

The month of October doesn't just play host to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, or to a well- known holiday, Halloween. It is also a month to promote violence awareness and to take a stand against family violence and abuse.
