20-year-old B.J. Richard-Bey changed his original plea from not guilty to guilty Friday in Judge Mark Fleegle’s courtroom.

Richard-Bey, seen here in the store’s security camera picture, was arrested after an armed robbery at the Speedway Gas Station on Blue Avenue.

He pleaded guilty Friday to one count of aggravated robbery with a gun specification, one count felony theft, one count misdemeanor theft, and one count of having a weapon while under disability.

Charges are still pending from Thursday night’s accident on Underwood Avenue near Shinnick Street.

According to Sgt. Chris Rice, 24-year-old Kenneth Guisinger of Zanesville was driving down Eastman Street when he reportedly drove into oncoming southbound traffic on Underwood Avenue.

An update to the shooting in an Echo Avenue house from earlier this week.

The shooting allegedly happened just before 11:00 p.m. Wednesday night at this house located at 538 Echo Avenue. After questioning, police arrested 40-year-old Randy Taylor of that address.

Officers originally had responded to a domestic dispute call and found that a 9-mm handgun had been discharged into the floor of the house. Five people were inside the home at the time of the alleged incident,...

A local furniture store has decided to expand its services to the community.

In a special groundbreaking ceremony today Coconis furniture hopes to have it’s newest building serve as the company’s 30,000 square foot warehouse and distribution center.

With a new distribution center comes more jobs for the community.

The Zanesville community gathered today to hold a special prayer service for a former Zanesville High School grad hit by a car two weeks ago in Tennessee.

Friends and neighbors are holding on to their faith, so that 23-year-old Micah Ashley Jones will wake up from her coma.

A former member of the Whiz Media Group family has died.

36-year-old Steve McBroom died of a heart attack Wednesday in Columbus, Ohio.

McBroom was Whiz T-V and Radio Sports Director from July of 1989 to November of 1993.

He had been working in sales in Columbus until his death.

McBroom’s arrangements are being handled by the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon, Ohio.

A Lancaster couple is suing the city school system over repeatedly putting their kindergarten child on the wrong school bus.

Jason and Melissa Cottrill claim their son was misplaced at least five times this past school year. They say the Medill Elementary School pupil was either not placed on the correct bus or wasn’t dropped off at his designated bus stop, or both.

School attorneys declined to comment on the suit.

Six corrections officers are scheduled to appear in a Youngstown court this morning on charges that they took part in a beating of an inmate.

The officers, three current and three former, were arrested yesterday and are to appear in U.S. District Court. They are charged with conspiracy against civil rights.

We have an update in the Coshocton Accident that occurred Thursday evening.

After a semi truck driven by Joe Gillespie struck a car head-on at the intersection of County Road 9 and State Route 751, four people were pinned inside the vehicle.

A major traffic tie-up in Zanesville sends two drivers to the hospital. The accident forced two main roads to close temporarily at about 9:30 p.m. while crews cleaned up the debris.
