The Zanesville Fire Department will continue its hydrant flushing program on Monday, April 27.
Hydrants will be flushed on Pershing Road on the east side of Pine Street to Muskingum Avenue including Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority and the west of Pine Street from West Main Street to Melrose Avenue, Ridge Avenue, Perry Lane, Ayers Street, Dryden Road and Muskingum Avenue.

A longtime Zanesville surgeon has died. 91-year-old Dr. Melvin Krohn died Thursday in Cleveland. He practiced Orthopedic Surgery in Zanesville from 1958 to 1995 at Orthopedic Associates. He served in the army in World War II where he was stationed in the Philippines. Calling hours are on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home.
