Mick attended St. Thomas Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Rosecrans High School in 1970. He attended MATC and Bowling Green State University. Mick was employed by the City of Zanesville, the Norfolk and Western Railroad, and Hart’s Family Center. Mick willingly assisted with St. Thomas’ and Rosecrans’ activities and sporting programs. Mick enjoyed movies, science fiction, a variety of musical styles, history and railroad memorabilia. His hobbies included bike riding, camping, wood carving, and, most importantly, spending time with friends and family. Mick was naturally inquisitive. He never met a stranger. Mick had a kind and gentle way with everyone, especially children, animals, and anyone who needed help. His family and friends will greatly miss his unique sense of humor. Mick had a beautiful inner strength that allowed him to fight a courageous battle against renal cancer without ever losing his Faith. He demonstrated Faith through his actions. Mick was a regular blood donor and an advocate for organ and tissue donation and bone marrow registration. His favorite charities included the Falls Township Fire Department, The Muskingum County Animal Shelter Society, the American Cancer Society, St. Thomas Parish, Bishop Rosecrans High School, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
