Zanesville –
Earl Junior Hubbard, 84 of Zanesville, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. Earl was born Dec. 30, 1924 in Woodsfield, Ohio to the late Earl Roger and Goldie Mae Clark Hubbard. He graduated from Merideth Business College. He was office manager for Central Ohio Coal Company.

Earl coached Biddy League Football, St. Nicholas Basketball and Football, Y-City Baseball and Babe Ruth. His 1966 Babe Ruth Baseball Team won the State Championship. He loved to play baseball and softball. He was scouted by Major League Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates. He served our country and protected our freedom when he was drafted during WWII in the Army Air Corp. He was a Ham Radio Operator, Century Amateur Radio Treasurer and Old Timers Association. He was also a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

Earl is survived by his son Brion (Micki) Hubbard of Zanesville, daughters Donna J. (Willard) Bryan of Zanesville and Suzann M. Crotzer of the home, 7 grandchildren: Shannon Hansel, Jon Smith, Jodi Ambrose, Derek, R.J. and Amy Hubbard and Shane Green and 10 great-grandchildren: Mark, J.J., and Kylie Green, Cole Lively, Monty and Madison Ambrose, Alex Hansel, Elaine and Ainsley Smith and Lilly Johnson, and 1 great-great- granddaughter, Diliha Green .

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Rose Marie “Rommie” Nemeth Hubbard, a son: Richard J. Hubbard, brothers: Gerald Joseph and Paul Roger Hubbard and sister: Geneva Franks.

Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE. Services will be conducted by Rev. Mr. Gene Staker at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Snouffer Chapel. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park with full Military Honors Provided By George Selsam VFW Post 1058.
