Richard Miller, 80, of Zanesville, passed away at 1:40 pm at Genesis, Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Richard was born July 5th 1929 the son of the late Pete and Mildred Whaley Miller. He retired in 1982 from Peabody Coal where he worked as a miner, he is a life member of the VFW post #1058 and he proudly served his country in the US Air Force and US Army serving in both WWII and Korea.
Richard is survived by his wife Grace (Mesaros) Miller, whom he married August 14, 1958; his son Richard (Denise) Miller of Coshocton; four daughters Venessa Powell of Newark, Barbara (Randy) Stalnaker of Dell City, OK, Roxanne (Scott) Johnston of Zanesville and Monica Miller of Zanesville; 8 Grandchildren Richard “Dale”, Natassja, Katie, Joey, Justin, Allen, Cole, Zach and Robb who is currently serving in the US Marine Corps in Afghanistan; Two Great Grandsons Robert Michael and Alex.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Thomas O. Miller who passed away in 1970, a grandson Aaron Viney and five brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be held 1 pm Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery, with Pastor William Meaige officiating. Thompson-Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is assisting the family.
